Lets start out with one my personal favorites, Death Note!
This is a one of a kind, mystery, drama, psychological thriller that will keep you wanting to know what's gonna happen next. This anime isn't all fast pasted and full of action, it takes things a little slower. Which in my opinion adds to the suspense. But don't get me wrong, it does have it's moments and man they are good. Over all it is one epic ride. Lets discuss the fist episode. Light Yagam, a normal high school student finds a supernatural notebook when walking home from school one day. In side the notebook it reads "anyone who's name is written in this note shall die. This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person’s face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected." Like anyone else would be, he is skeptical and thinks it's a joke, that is until he decides to test it. When in his room wondering who's name to write in the book, a braking news report about a man keeping kids and teachers hostage at a school catches his eye. Light writes the mans' name in the book and waits to see what happens. Just as he thought, it did nothing. Or so he thinks, after about 25 seconds, all the hostages came running out of the building. The hostages tell the reporter that the man just dropped. Light can't believe what he is hearing, did he just kill a man by simply writing his name?! What he doesn't know is that's not even the biggest shock he's gonna be gifting today. Just a few seconds after that, he meet ryuk a Shinigami or "God of Death", who gives him the scare of his life. Ryuk tells Light "everything" about the Death Note, including that he is the one who dropped it into the human world. After Light is done questioning Ryuk he decides right then and there, he will use the Death Note to rid the world of evil and become "God of the new world!"
